Our story
Oceanos began in psychotherapy: Oceanos Counseling has been supporting clients since 2018. Today the group also includes Work-Out.net, our solution for getting healthier and fitter, and a consulting arm that draws on management, training and water sports experience across industries and borders.
The group is led by Deniz Uyanik and Utku Ozgurler, whose backgrounds in psychotherapy, operations and training shape how we work. Meet the team.
Leadership
The people behind Oceanos
Deniz Uyanik
Deniz is a mental health professional with an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies and is a PhD candidate in Psychology, both at the University of Bolton. Alongside that clinical training sits an MBA and many years of experience in business, management and leadership.
Alongside being a therapist, Deniz delivers lectures at New York College in Athens, publishes research, and does peer review work for the APA. He has also provided management and consultancy services to PWC companies for more than 12 years. Deniz works in English and Turkish (both native) and also speaks Greek and Japanese at a working level.
Utku Ozgurler
Utku is an experienced train-the-trainer and leadership instructor, and has worked with technology companies for years. He combines that with a strong operations background in managing people and running day-to-day operations. Utku designs and delivers training programmes that help teams improve how they work, and provides consultancy for projects.
Earlier in his career Utku worked in technical support and customer service, and taught English in Bangkok. He speaks English and Turkish.
